On August 14, CWMAC participated in the Kenya Conservancies Investment Forum 2025 in Nairobi under the theme “Unlocking Investments for Sustainable Conservation”. Represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mohamedi Kamuna, alongside senior team members  Jackline Mwampeta, and Prosper Munisi, CWMAC joined panel discussions and sessions showcasing how WMAs and conservancies can serve as engines for community development from eco-tourism and carbon credits to conservation agriculture and other nature-based enterprises.

For Tanzania’s Wildlife Management Areas, the Forum offered a platform to explore partnerships, attract investment, and bring home proven models from across the region. Our team shared experiences in community-led conservation, particularly the innovative financing and enterprise approaches within Tanzania WMAs that deliver tangible benefits to local communities.  These contributions sparked rich conversations about cross-border collaboration and showed potential investors what is possible when communities are at the forefront of conservation.

Special appreciation was given to the Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA) team and Kenyan conservancy leaders for their warm hospitality and insights from their landscapes. The Forum’s takeaway was clear:  when communities, investors, and regional networks work together, conservation becomes a shared opportunity.

CWMAC’s participation not only raised our profile among potential supporters but also reaffirmed to existing donors that we are actively pursuing sustainable, homegrown solutions, the kind that make conservation financially viable and socially equitable.
