This quarter, CWMAC conducted strategic visits to two key partners: The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Carbon Tanzania as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration around shared conservation and climate objectives.

These engagements provided a platform for joint reflection on CWMAC’s priorities, challenges, and emerging opportunities. Discussions with TNC focused on expanding nature-based solutions, advancing carbon financing for community conservation, notably through support to Randilen WMA and reinforcing governance systems across WMAs to effectively manage interventions at the landscape level.

With Carbon Tanzania, the exchange centered on the progress of carbon initiatives involving six WMAs in the Ruvuma Landscape, aimed at enhancing community access to carbon markets. The dialogue emphasized the importance of ensuring direct community benefits from climate-smart conservation efforts, including fair revenue-sharing and transparent governance.

As CWMAC moves forward, strategic partnerships remain key to unlocking sustainable finance, building capacity, and positioning Tanzanian communities at the heart of conservation solutions.
